Soupbone's Bio:

Soupbone (Phill Stevens) was born in Newport News, VA, where he played original prog rock with Aaron Stringer on keyboards. He moved to Blacksburg, VA some years ago, probably for Va Tech, and joined a band named Screaming Pink with Slash Coleman, John Pinkerton, and Chris Waltz. The next year when Slash left for Europe, Phill and Chris found a drummer, Brian Knight. They played covers as The Push all over town with a few other singers/keyboardists. Then they changed the name Tundra 212 and began playing and recording original alternative rock. Tundra 212 toured up and down the east coast, opening for bands like Egypt and Everything. When Chris and Brian moved on, Phill started the band Mother Fungus with Larry Kohler, Eric Spencer, and Jeff Hoffman from the Richard Jessie Project. They toured and recorded, playing originals, funk and blues. Then in a twist of fate, Phill layed down the guitar and mic to play bass with Neil Racicot and Mike P Koury in the all original sonic jam band Bent. As all good things come to an end, so did Bent. Next, he joined the Americana band True Levellers with David McNair, Ed Watson, and Mike Dame. Later he joined old friends T. Byron Kelly, Doug Veit, and Ken Ostrander in the all original performance art band Spectral Arts, with whom he is still playing today. Phill Stevens plays under the name Soupbone as a singer/songwriter/guitarist that keeps writing and playing on the edge.
